Howard L. Turner
Private First Class Howard L. Turner served in the United States Army with the 7th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division, “Rock of the Marne.” Howard L. Turner was born on February 9, 1928, to Edward and Ethel Turner. He was raised near Severn, Maryland. PFC Turner was killed in action while fighting the enemy in South Korea on March 31, 1951. Ethel Turner authorized the Post to use her son’s name and presented the Post with the United States burial flag that draped Howard’s casket during his funeral and military honors.
